Hi All

Not much to say this week I’m afraidd, ‘cos I’ve got a bit of a runny nose and the longer I sit here, the more the snot is dddripping into my keyboarddddd. Ddddddoh! Looks my ddddddd key is alreaddddddy starting to get stuck dddddown a bit.

This Week’s Fixtures

No news from Thirsty, so I’m going to assume all is as per the website (http://www.southernnomads.com/?page_id=9) except that I think the return leg of the Ramsey Cheshire game is now schedddduledddddd for tomorrow against a Ramsey XV.

Nowt fot yoof this Sunday, but I wouldddddd like to thank the addddddddddddditional volunteers who turnedddddddd up last week to help out wiv yoof trainin’. It is much appreciatedddddddd but woulddddddd be even more so if you were to dddddddo it again. Go on, give Parksy a nice surprise anddddd pop dddddown on Saturddddday mmmmmoring. DDDDDDammmmmm, there goes mmmmmy mmmmm!

Tour

This week’s guest contributor to the No DDDDDDDate, is your esteammmmmedddd ex Chairmmmmman, MMMMMMMr Spunky Seedddddd. He has very kinddddly supplieddddd the following upddddddate on Tour preparations:

“Malaga Tour. Departing Friday 30 April, returning Monday 3 May 2010.

This year’s tour to Malaga will Nomads’ 25th consecutive tour and there cannot be many clubs which have toured every year for the last 25 years. Do all you can to get on this tour.

Costs will not exceed £400 per tourist.

Tourists really need to start paying up more than the long standing £25 deposit. The Club and your fellow Nomads can’t afford any “Larry-let-downs”. International Tours in particular take more organisation and commitment. A suitable fixture in the Malaga area is presently being arranged and suitable accommodation will be arranged after liaising with the host club.

Presently, we have the following flight booked for 40 persons. If any tourists not starting from or ending up in IOM wish to join us, please endeavour to join us on Manchester / Malaga / Manchester flights below and therefore be included this 40 persons booking. Please let the club know so we can count you in.

Friday 30 April
Depart Manchester at 16.20
Arrive Malaga at 20.20

Monday 3 May (bank holiday)
Depart Malaga at 13.00
Arrive Manchester at 14.55

20 Kg baggage per person is already included in the booking.

The Club has already paid the £25 deposit per person, (i.e. £1000) . Thereafter, balance is due 6 weeks before departure, (i.e. mid-March). The Club will not be paying the balance for 40 persons. The Club will only be paying the balance for those tourists who have paid the club £ 200 by that time.

The Club will then have to confirm passengers names 2 weeks before departure.

IOM/Manchester/IOM travel. In order to keep costs down, it is more than likely that we will do the IOM/Liverpool ferry on Friday 30 April morning and return by ferry on Monday 3 May evening. We will arrange a coach from Liverpool to Manchester airport and back or get the train (like the last two tours), depending on total numbers.

So, please let your ‘tour committee’ be aware of your commitment to the Nomads Tour 25th Anniversary. Please contact either:-

This Week’s Fixtures

It’s a double whammy this week boys.

Our finest and fittest are at home to Douglas B, whilst the Emerging Nomads Super Squad face Castletown away.

This our first double-header for some time, and what better way to celebrate than a regal display of our best woolen attire during the post-slaughter mayhem at the Bay. De C0ck has decreed that ‘Silly Jumpers’ be the order of the day, and all non-conformists should be prepared to face the wrath of C0ck and suffer your fines with grace and dignity. Dustbin…just wear your usual androgynous ’cardy’ and I’m sure you’ll get away with it!

Nowt fot yoof this Sunday.

I believe they are ‘resting’ following their sparkling display at Port ‘n’ Cheese last Sunday. Top entertainment all. It was great to see you all back in the fray.

200 Club

Ginger-Beard and Lord Spunkington Spunks have recently been seen perusing the super-yachts down at Earls Court, whilst Ange was spotted leaving Ann Summers with the biggest bag of goodies ever spotted on Strand Street. Any why? Because they had the forethought to invest 25 measly smakeroos in the Southern Nomads SPort Erin 200 Club, that’s why!

A few more members and February winner will be leaving Capital International before you can say “please don’t send the bailiffs Ginge”. Carroty Face, Little Widge and the old Cockeroo will no doubt be soliciting you to join amongst the woolage on Saturday, so come prepared with noteage of the realm, and who knows, that crappy Damo-mobile could be transformed into a Parksy-Hairdresser-Wagon before the spring thaw. Get in there.

Surreal Deal

As my mate ”Pabbers” Picasso once said, “Action is the foundational key to all success”. Mmmmmm? Wonder what that was all about? Regardless, never a truer word was said by a complete nut-case. If you want success this May bank holiday, take action and get your name on the Tour list. We’re going to Malaga. That’s in Spain Mr. Duggan. Yes, really.

Get your 25 quid to the tour sub-committee and you too can experience all that influenced old Pabsie in his youth, and gave him that almost unique outlook on life. I say ’almost’ as I’ve tried to hold a conversation with Drunken Al, and I’m fairly certain they’re from the same mould.

Yoof Volunteers

We desperately need some additional helpers at this Saturday morning’s yoof training. It takes place at Rushen Primary at 11:30 in the morning…so that’s Damo out.
This week we’re missing Gaff, Spunky and Anthony, and in addition, it’s the first week of the Year 3 MYG Tag training, so there may be significantly more yoof than usual.
As most of the Nomads now work for Capital, maybe Anthony can encourage/cajole/force his Nomads to attend – Doug, Ginge and the rest of you…Parksy is ready and waiting.

We definitely need the usual superstars: Justine, Cagzie, Cainer and Kempy, but a few extras wouldn’t go a miss…Harry Brereton, come on down.

Please help out…it’s both rewarding, and clears your head after a big night out.

Pooch Problems

You might think some of the Ruggers stinks at KWC on a Saturday afternoon, but it ain’t half as bad as one particular King Bills pupil!

Apparently, while going about his normal business (thrashing his fag I believe), he unceremoniously fell into what can only be described as a steaming heap of pony-and-trap of the canine variety.

Mr. Jackson, the Clerk of Works at KWC, reckons that it must all “fall from the sky or grow out of the ground”. Personally, I’m going for option one and that Flymaybe* lot, as I reckon they’re now charging to ‘punch one out’ and then dumping it on take off. Failing that, I wouldn’t bet against a certain ex-chairman unloading over the wall on his way back from the Whitey one night.

*Here we go again…another disclaimer: Any similarity between the fictitious cheap air operator ‘Flymaybe’, and any other cheap air operator is purely coincidental and there is no implication that any airline does, or ever would, charge for evacuating the last foot of your large intestine, and then drop it on take off to save fuel and UK import duty.

Seriously though folks, we are very privileged to be able to use the KWC facilities, and any Nomad or spectator found to be letting their dog foul the field will be reprimanded by the club and reported to Mr. Jackson. To repeat the school rules, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on College grounds. This way any doggy “accidents” would be seen and should be cleaned up.

Extremely Expensive Night Out?

World Cup Winner, Lawrence Dallaglio O.B.E., Wasps, Lions and England Rugby Legend is to address Isle of Man Sporting Club members & guests on Thursday 29 April 2010. The dinner will take place at the Mount Murray Hotel & Country Club in Santon.
